Black Queens beat Tanzania to book WAFCON Quarterfinals slot

The Black Queens of Ghana have advanced to the Quarterfinals of the Women’s African Cup of Nations after winning 4-1 over Tanzania in the final group game on Monday Night.
The Black Queens needed a win or a draw to progress as the second-placed team from the group after South Africa had already clinched the first slot.
Priscilla Adubea scored an early goal for the Queens in the 12th minute, before Stumai Athumani equalized for the Tanzanian team in the 41st minute to make the score 1-1.
After recess, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah scored the 2nd, 3rd and 4th goals for the Queens to take the team to the Quarter Finale of the Competition. The Black Queens if Ghana have bow secured the second position in Group C after today’s win with 4 points behind leaders South Africa who amassed 7 points after the group stage.
Ghana will now play Algeria in the quarter-finals of the competition for a place in the semi-finals.
