Ghana cedi records massive appreciation against the dollar in May 2025
The Ghana cedi has strongly appreciated against the dollar in recent weeks, which has caused a fall in prices of goods and services in the country.
The cedi continues to appreciate on the interbank market daily. As of May 30th, 2025, the Ghana cedi is selling at GHC10.30 and buying at GHC10.29 against the dollar, according to the Bank of Ghana, whilst the pound is selling at GHC13.89 and buying at GHC13.88
Additionally to further stabilize the cedi, the bank of Ghana has announced that Ghana is expected to receive $360 million loan from the international monetary fund in June 2025.
the euro has seen a massive decline against the cedi as it is currently selling at GHC 11.70 and buying at GHC11.50 according to the bank of Ghana.
