EOCO collaborating with an international organized crime network to investigate Chairman Wontumi
Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Mr. Antwi Bernard Boasiako widely known as Chairman Wontumi is under investigation for criminal allegations levelled against him by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).
According to EOCO, the suspect has been under investigation since Tuesday, May 27, 2025, for various criminal acts such as fraud, money laundering and causing financial loss to the state.
According to Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Justice Srem Sai stated on social media, Suspect Bernard Boasiko is currently under a series of investigations after he announced that the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) is collaborating with some international law enforcement agencies on a second investigative strand.
The suspect is still in police custody after failing to meet the GHC50 million bail granted to him on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
