Kwame Opoku makes Black Stars squad for Unity Cup games

Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Kwane Opoku has been named in the Black Stars Squad ahead of the Unity Cup game against Nigeria to be staged in London.
On May 28th 2025, the Black Stars of Ghana will feature in a four-nation Unity Cup game in London. Other participating Nations for the mini tournament include West African Rivals Nigeria, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobaco.
The Black Stars will take on Nigeria in The first semi-final game on Wednesday at 6pm GMT as the winner of the game will face the winner of the game between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobaco in the final game.
After an impressive season with Kumasi Asabre Kotoko Head Coach of the Black Stars of Ghana has handed Kwame Opoku a call-up to the team after making his maiden appearance for the Ghana National team in 2021.
Kwame Opoku on his return to the Kotoko team has scored 9 goals in 16 appearances for the club. He has led them to the Final of the MTN FA Cup and still contending for the Premier League title.
He is expected to play in all games for the Black Stars during the Unity Cup in London. Other home-based players who made the Black Stars squad include Hearts of Oak Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, Nations FC defender Razak Simpson and Medeama’s Mamudu Kamaradini.
